We are able to change broken power sockets on all makes and models of laptop including Dell, HP, Compaq, Toshiba, Sony, Acer, Advent, Packard Bell, eMachines, Gateway, Samsung, Fujitsu-Siemens, Asus and Lenovo
Replacing the power socket requires more work than people think. The laptop must be completely stripped, screen, keyboard, palmrest removed. Once the motherboard is removed the damaged socket can be desoldered and removed. The original solder is removed and PCB contacts are then cleaned. A brand new power socket is then fitted (we do not simply re-solder the original component). Our replacement sockets are fitted to a better standard than the manufacturer making a stronger fitting and future breaks less likely.
We can change the power socket on your laptop for £69 (manufacturer repair prices for this job are £190+)
Often while the laptop is stripped down we can identify other issues that can be resolved such as low cmos battery voltage (£5 to change battery) or a blocked fan & heatsink (£10 extra to fully clean out the assembly and add new heatsink compound).
